IPL - the buzz word :))

IPL - For the last 1 1/2 months , this has been the buzz word the whole world has been talking about and ofcourse the latest news about lalit modi's dismissal...
This season was real fun amidst all the masala and controversies.
Though am not a ardent cricket fan, i have found the T20 matches really quick, interesting and unpredictable...It takes great interest in a person, to follow the skillyfully played test series or the 50 over matches..But these 20-20 matches atleast provide the opportunity to understand and appreciate the sport owing to the time factor.. Though there is conflicting opinion about the money being pumped in, the scandals associated with this , IPL has defly become a successful brand.It provides an opportunity to identify local talent and great fun to see young players on the ground. The marketing and branding has definitely been a great reason for success...
Quite strange that though am a die hard chennai fan,this time i supported MI and was quite disappointed to see the finals yesterday. Really wished the little master would lift the trophy :(( Anyways its just a game :)
Pretty convenient timings,action packed matches every evening and infact our routine was set according to this.
For once, i used to enjoy updating my hubby about the upcoming matches, match status and scores inspite of him commenting " NALLA POZHAPU ...UNNA MATHIRI EVALO PERU NATTULA VETTIYA ERUKANGA".... if this were the case , i used to wonder most indian men are vetti 50% of their life..
In fact, in quite a few matches he was amazed (or rather jealous) about the fact that i could predict who would bowl the next over, based on the progress of the match:)Overall it was fun to watch the matches, not to miss the celebrities who were another highlight factor . The best one and my most favourite of the season was "bhajji hugging and lifting nita ambani" after winning the semis... I was awestruck with my mouth open for a moment ...
Overall,IPL 2010 was fun and when i sometimes feel sad that there wont be any more matches, my dear hubby comments "dont worry dear.. the 20-20 World Cup is gonna start in a week;s time :)) ha ha ha... " thatz the only consolation factor ;)
