People can be fanatic about anything ... In the recent past , i have met fewwho are really fanatic about Dubai.....
This is a common attitude among NRIs who seem to carry lot of pride in staying abroad .Things dont stop at this..Given an opportunity they always try to strike a comparison between India and west... Quite understandable that people stay in different parts of the globe for various reasons ,right from finance,family,education...
But that doesnt give them the right to " bitch " about their own country... Very disheartening
to hear such comments....Now coming to my story....
No doubt Dubai is a great place to live, given the luxury and comfort... Even the affordability levels are quite high , unlike india where only the rich can affort comfort... Lots of opportunities and a boon for middle class indians... Middle east provides you western comfort but its very much Indian owing to the % of Indians residing here..... The variety of cars and wide roads,cheap fuel prices are a real pleasure to people who love driving... Its very common to see a Mercedes or BMW on the roads.Everything right from apartments,public buses to malls have a centralised a/c system.Huge supermarkets where u get A-Z from India..Labour is available at affordable
rates unlike the West.
Given all these facilities and a huge 5 figure salary ,many dont find any reason to get back to India....People even argue that India cant provide this kind of luxury given the same salary levels...
Perceptions vary , but i sincerely hope that some day atleast these people will feel the pride of being an Indian and realise how much their mother nation has given them..
