Anyone who knoes me well , must be shocked to find a post abt "sports"..... Dun Worry!!!!!
My association with sports has rather been very poor not sure if its becoz of the "feminine" factor (exceptions are always there)......and am still making efforts to improve it.....
Contrary to the statements of people like " I grew up watching sachin play " blah blah.... i can never remember being an ardent fan of any sports person.....
Being a rather lazy kid at school, the only times when i visited the play grounds were for march pasts ( being the house captain , cudnt afford to miss that...) and the prayer sessions ...
Was always actively involved in extra-curriculars , but sports never featured in that list....Only claim to fame was winning a "lemon and spoon" competition in my class five..... Played shuttle quite often and occasionally basket ball at workplace.....
Its always been the men in my family who have introduced me to sports...My dad loved tennis and i enjoyed watching that with him.....Needless to say abt cricket in India (every guy is crazy abt that....) , so was my brother who tortured me by watching matches and its highlights back 2 back.... He was one idiot who cud watch any sport played by any damn team...
In the same lines , i was forced to football world cup series and the formula one races...
Enjoyed watching tournaments/matches be it tennis/cricket ,but was never obsessed with any team/player ...It always fun watching India vs Pakistan play a final in a cricket match....
Indeed sports are fun , but unlike people who eat /breathe/live cricket , i cant imagine wasting
so much of time watching a test match....(fyi.... never watched one so far...) ...atleast these 20-20 matches are short and interesting.....Tried to understand the nuances of a sport and appreciate it....Ofcourse it does require a lot of effort and practise....
Make best efforts to keep myself abreast with the latest news in sports after being ridiculed by a frnd for not knowing who "narain karthikeyan " was....(I was indeed ignorant that time...)
IPL and Champions league seem to be the making news...Chelsea or Manchester United whoever wins my life will still go on..............

you should have included that the last line is stolen from your hubby :) just kidding...
good to know that at least you seldom listen to what i say :)
Can't imagine what my life would be without cricket or football! Given that you dont have any loyalties towards either United or Chelski how abt praying for a united victory for that will make the day (rather year) for one soul that you know
Keep writing
Cheers

hi shivi,
you will not say that about the test match if only you had watched the tied test at chennai and the triple century of sewag at chennai. Yes, tennis was once good to watch when Mcenrow, Borg, Edberg, Becker simply teased you with their artistry but not now anymore with power prevailing over artistry and deftness. Touch tennis has gone over the hill.

I never knew that shivi can play shuttle. Is it just for the sake of blog or real?????????
