Reality Shows.....

Times are changing and so is the transition from reel to real.Reality TV shows are gaining much popularity these days..I was always skeptical about these shows and the big brother controversy added fuel to the fire.....
But,recently started watching " Roadies 5.0 " on MTV and this one seems to prove me wrong....Initially didnt have much idea about that programme and was jus a time-pass...
Looks like there have been earlier versions of this show which were shot at various locations in India...The roadies (the participants) travel by road from one destination to another ..At every destination they have a new task (game) which awaits them...At each level few(or rather one) gets eliminated and the rest compete , until therez one final roadie who wins a " bike " and some cash prize.....
Winning ur task doesnt guarantee an entry into the next level , becoz different types of eliminations are there like a voteout,immunity....5.0 seems to be shot at international locations as well , in Thailand,Bangkok....
This is the show in a nutshell....
For complete info,, watch the show ;)
Sounds pretty ok but whatz so different abt this one... Probably the participants (
thank god...they are not celebrities....)and the turn of events in the last few episodes have taken me in for a surprise...

I started watching at a point when there were "4 guys and 3 girls " in the show after the initial round of eliminations.. First thing that came to my mind, how can guys and girls compete together becoz many of the tasks seem physically strenuous...
Of the 3 girls , there was one who was quite tall and strong and the rest 2 looked like kids...(short and one was rather very puny by name "simran")...Have always wondered that the competition wud never be just and the guys ( who looked really macho) would win hands down..
These were my inferences and this is what actually happened...

Guy no 1 , managed to survive 2 vote-outs inspite of him not participating the first 2 events. one was eating sea-food including worms, water snakes which he bluntly refused being a veggie ( doesnt justify his stand of taking part...Rules of the game are meant to be followed...)Second was a boxing contest which he cudnt becoz of his bruised leg...
Ironically the first one to be knocked out was guy no 4 who won the boxing contest....That leaves us with 3 girls and guys each...
The next game was quite interesting, balancing a barrel infront of a huge hurricane fan...To my shock , the puny ones seem to outperform the machos..
The show has almost reached its climax with jus 2 guys left who are in the last phase of winning the title....Eliminations at certain levels were never justified ,becoz real talented performers were kicked out due to lack of majority( this is not the only place such things happen)..Some of them were able to make it to the top 5 by mere tricks and tactics....
All said and done few things to really learn from these shows...Positive energy and confidence....Some games were won with mere focus and patience..Never under-estimate anyone..Be smart to make it to the top ..
Probably all is fair in love and war ;)
